How to Apply Lipstick

Apply all other makeup before putting on lipstick and lip liner.

Lightly dab on a lip balm to smooth, reduce crevices and moisturize the lips. This will help give you an even application of lipstick.

Use a lip liner that matches your lips, not your lipstick. For a more dramatic effect, you can use a color liner that is a shade darker than the lipstick you wish to apply. Before drawing a line with the lip pencil, dot it at various points along the outline of your lips. Then, connect the dots, drawing very lightly with the liner.

Starting at the center of the upper lip, apply the color, moving outward towards one corner, then bringing the lipstick back to the center, running it outward towards the other corner. Repeat with the lower lip. To fill in any missing color, dab the lipstick with your pinky, then dot the color onto your lips with the finger.

Blot to remove any excess color and to even out the texture.

Remember to touch lips up after a meal, as lipstick easily transfers onto coffee cups, water bottles and soda cans.
